We've got one, a 19" with built in DVD and it works very well. Lots of people have bought them on the caravan and motorhome forums, all work well.

The current smaller 12v LEDS PVR TVs have a sound problem in that they are very tinny - spoke to Kogan about it last week as my brother bought a 19" and has it now wired into his camper sound system to get decent sound.

Kogan said that the LED TVs were too thin to put in decent audio amplifiers and speakers - they suggested the slightly larger and thinker LCD Tvs would be better but the picture quality is not as good.

I had heard this and when I got my all singing and dancing thin sharp LED tv one thing that wasnt as good as my hi sense old school thick LCD was the sound

no biggie because when watching anything decent like a blue ray it goes through the 7.1 reciever (oh yea!)

point is is probablly true not just salesman Bulldust

dazren,
Have had Kogan 22' for just over a week. So far so good. Sound seems to vary a little but I suspect that may be the sound quality of the particular show. Eg; I switched to say ABC 24 and sound was perfect.

Have just ordered another one for a relative. Check your price, we purchased ours on a frugal friday a few weeks ago and paid $209.00 delivered to Brisbane. Ordered another for a relative Sunday, yesterday and paid $225.00 delivered to Ipswich. Have only had it working on mains power in the van but as I said happy so far.

Ditto from me. Have recently returned from nearly 5 month avoiding the Melbourne winter and our Kogan 19" TV/DVD combo performed faultlessly. No hesitation in recommending them.
Re the sound, yes, 'tis a bit tinny but I also agree that you can't expect too much from such small speakers. Also I found that there is an audio setting for something like 'auto level control' which I turned off as it made the sound too 'breathy' and a bit distorted. Result was much more natural sound though there now seems to be a more noticeable difference in sound levels between channels (and of course ads).
Regards, Jim.

Hi Dazren,

I have a 22" model at home and a 24" in the caravan and am more than happy with both of them for the price.
I also just received an email from Kogan advertising free extended warranty upgrades until tomorrow night.
Might be worth a look.

Bought one from Kogan via an ebay bid, (19" tv/dvd combo 240/12 volt) couple of weeks ago and secured it for $102-00.

Have installed it in the van on the old wall bracket. and after a bit of antenna upgrade, I couldn't be happier with it. My sound is just beaut.

So, a big thumbs up from me :-)

Fred.

When the only criticism leveled at KOGAN by the 'oo! - oo! nit picking brigade' is the sound quality (Allegedly I might add) then you know you are onto a great product.

I have purchased 4 KOGAN's over the past 2-3 years and they have been perfect in every aspect.

(1) 24in LCD, HD - DVD not available at that time. 12V and all perfect.

(2) 22in LCD, HD + DVD 12V all perfect

(3) 24in LED, HD + DVD 12V all perfect

(4) 19in LED, HD + DVD 12V all perfect ( gift for my Son in laws Motor X racing van)

All purchased when on special and No. 3 was actually purchased on a pre shipping deal which was even cheaper again.

So check KOGAN's site for his 'pre shipping' deals. It's like buying off the floor plan of a building yet to be built, however in this instance its a container of the subject product which is be manufactured or is in the manufacturing stage. The price continually increases closer to shipping until it matches the landed price.

If you manage to catch the offer early it can be large saving.

I have a mounting bracket in our caravan which allows me to lift the TV off of it in about 3 seconds. I then detach the cables and place the TV on a seat or bed for traveling.

The KOGAN TV's come with a base for free standing use, which is very easy to attach and detach if you wish to move the TV to wherever - House, outside the caravan in an annex etc etc.

Now as for the sound quality - if you want to be able hear the sheet music drop to floor during the Vienna Philharmonic New Years production, then stay home with your zillion dollar sound system.

The sound is just perfect for traveler's, campers and everybody else.

As an aside to this, this year I became aware of two residences in our street that are using KOGAN big screen LCD & LED's and the owners have nothing but good things to say about same.

So there you have it.

Forgot to add that they have HDMI and USB ports.

You can load up a movie or 3 or a recorded Cable program etc etc onto a large capacity USB stick plus MP3's and its all good.

Kogan seem to have the online for people who don;t like buying on ebay but ebay is the way to go.

Bought a Kogan 22'" HD LED Tv with built in DVD and PVR on ebay for $154 + $36 postage (Kogan online = $249). service was first rate. added a 12V charger plug direct from Kogan.

We had been warned about sound and adjusted in setup by reducing treble and increasing base.
