the TX valve makes a unreal and i mean unreal/load groan...only intermittent but untill i figured out what was actually making the noise I always had thoughts about reliability when away...
any how has, any one else had the problem and or does any one else know exactly what is happening...
i am a fridgie but i'v never heard this before....
toyota dealership has I believe, as when I described the noise to them the first question was ..."does it only happen when the aircon is is on"
I just want to know what is actually happening
cos it only does when I driving and I only have it on when its hot ....meaning its too hot to take a closer look so I'll stay inside where its cool. Wow! am I cute

Early 100 series had the noise you described from the tx valve
The fix was a modified tx valve, liquid pipe & receiver drier
I don't believe it had any affect on reliabilty of system it only made the noise described
