Camper canvas

My camper roof has developed a slight sag, which collects water when it rains. The other night we had a resonably heavy storm which resulted in the roof being heavy enough to bend one of the poles. Not leaking but can't be good.

The camper is set up as tight as I can get it, but appears to have a sag memory. Is this possible?

Does any one know if there is a way to remove this memory, or shrink that area of the canvas?

The sag is not above my bed, but I don't think the kids would appreciate it if the water came in over their heads while sleeping.

Hi SDG
There is a way to get a little bit of sag out of the roof however most people that I know have had to have the camper top removed from the trailer and a section of the roof cut out.
.
Try putting the camper up loose. Soaking the canvas with a hose. Then try tightening it up for it to dry. Sometimes this works depending on how sagged it is. It usually only happens on campers that don't have a great fall on their roofs.
.
Best of luck.

By the way.
It wouldn't happen to be an All Terrain by any chance?

I'm not sure of the construction or type of camper, but I would suggest adding a
spreader bar under the low area if this is feasible. If not, how about adding some
support using a hoop of light weight curtain rod etc. Surely a much cheaper option
than canvas surgery.....oldbaz

Yes I have experimented with a spreader bar. It worked to a fashion, but I need to glue a strip of canvas where the bar touches to the roof. It ran a stream of water down along the bar.
Today I also applied water proofing stuff in an effort to run the water off faster as I did notice that it does not seem to bead as much as the rest of the tent.

Hi SDG
I believe that the waterproofing will shrink the canvass that is what i have been told this is on the berkmeyer water proofing and rot proofing

You could simply try dropping one of the corner poles to create some slack in the corner so the water will run off instead of being supported on all sides. May flap around a bit more in the wind but I'd imagine if it's windy the movement of the canvas would move the water off anyway.
