I've got a Cub Offroad Spacevan and the wife has problems sleeping at night when it`s very windy. Thé winch strap vibrates and `strums`against the roof of thhve they managed to se camper and is virtually keeping her awake all night.I was advised and have tried fixinga small carpet square on the strap at the front of the camper and this works in most cases but in very high winds it`s useless. Has anyone else with a Cub had this problem and have they managed to stop this? If I can solve this SWAMBO will be a very happy camper all the time.

Try tying a thick car wash sponge on the middle of the strap, It should go a long way to fixing the problem. Just a thought! Michael

Is the winch really necessary?
We have had hard floor camper trailers & never needed one.

When we had one I used to just flick it over the side if for an overnighter or if staying longer I used to disconect and roll it back onto the winch, and then just throw it back over using the shackle as weight.

Know what you mean but ours never kept us awake. When all else fails tie a light rope at about the halfway mark ( where the white mark is). Set the camper up. Slacken the winch strap off & pull strap over to one side or completely off if you want. Not hard to get the strap back on. Just throw the rope to the other side & pull. May need a help with one of the poles if you took it right off. Probably all you will need to do is slacken strap slightly & tie off rope. Put a bend in the strap & it shouldn't vibrate. Bill

Disconnect the strap and reconnect when you're about to pack up. Easy enough done.

Just induce some twists into the strap and it won't vibrate.
