Racey,
We know that they are not Honda, they don't claim to be.
Claim is that they are as quiet as a Honda.

Disco.

For those who suspicously ASSUME,should not, as it some times makes an ASS/U/ME as I own one of these Gennys great unit.

Ask the supplier for engine specs such as - db ratings at a distance of 7metres for a particular load – engine displacement – peak and continuous load capacity – whether 2 or 4 stroke - overload and overcurrent protection, warranties etc etc.
If specs are not available don't touch it.

Looks suspiciously like GMC branded gear reincarnated.

If you went to the (909) website you would see this:

Good point - here is an extract from the manual:

Scope of product
These products are suited for home use, camping and job site applications.
Typical applications are, power tools, non electronic appliances plus DC applications like recharging lead acid car batteries and operating 12V appliances to a rating of 60W (5A). These generators are also fitted with USB power outlet which are suitable for appliances up to a max current draw of 1 amp 5W.
Note: These generators are not suitable for sensitive electronic equipment like computers, televisions,
caravans etc.
It is highly recommended to have a surge protector connected to the generator.

G'day Higgos,
Like someone said it is the same Genny as the old GMC model re-baged.

I opened the PDF instruction manual for my GMC beside the 909 manual & both manuals are the same word for word! The only thing different is the Logos have been changed.

In fact I reckon they have not taken new photos they have just edited the pdf logos. Look carefully at the photo of the 909 printed on the tank in the manual link that DD gave us. Reckon its been pasted over the original GMC one on a computer.

As for quality well they are pretty noisy & theres no way I would use one camping. Then again I would never take any generator Camping!

My GMC branded one still works ok for running off site power tools but you get what you pay for.

Cheers
Stu
