Not in the Bay, or close to the Bay. Depends on how close to Hervey Bay you want.

The closest ‘FREE CAMP’ would be at Tiaro, on the Bruce Highway, south of Maryborough.
The next cheapest type of camping would be the ones that incur National Park type fees.
The closest would be at Kauri Creek, this is a link to some details. It is privately owned and the owner collects a small fee. (Use to be looked after by Russell on 4129-8177.?)

Inskip Point at Rainbow Beach is the next best place. Beside the beach and has toilets. Great spot!
There are plenty of caravan parks at the Bay or nearby, another spot that gets good reviews is Flame Lily Adventures, on the Burrum Heads Road and on the Burrum River, this is the link...

Flame Lily Adventures

Two very nice caravan parks at Burrum Heads, one is on the edge of the river and near the mouth and the other is very close. (Just north of Hervey Bay)
