It's a miracle he got through that one.....
he obviously didn't walk it before he drove it....
just like two guys in a landrover in 1980 who tried to cross the shoalhaven; it was too deep to walk across, so they tried to drive across... needless to say, they didn't make it. We had to pull them out once they hit the sandbar about 300 mtrs down stream.

May I ask a silly question????? I noted he shoved the vehicle in reverse, at what point would've he changed it, when he got traction????? I hope I never need to know but it would be good just in case.......

This clip has certainly been doing the rounds on here a couple of times and other forums of late.

He must know this spot well or he is an absolute nutter.

Would have been great to watch, but if he lost it, there would be no chance that I would risk working my vehicle to recover him.

This bloke in the following video is obviously out to generate a whole new level of respect for old Suzi's ........

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qr8eEWyKQHM

However, neither the Suzi owner, nor the HJ80 owner obviously have much care for the value and lifespan of vehicles.
I reckon the floor will have dropped out of that 80 series by now, from corrosion.
The floors in the Hiluxes of the late 80's and mid-90's corrode out rapidly enough, without even doing deep water stuff.
