You opened a can of worms here with the rust protection!!!!!
We had it on our cruiser and couldn't see any rust starting anywhere, even in the scratches so I would say yes it does work. You will get a mixed response from people on here so good luck working it out. I was very happy with it on our cruiser.

Don't know about the electronic rust proofing cause all and sundry tell me it doesn't work. Don't know about that but all my vehicles are fitted with it and they don't have any rust.

23 year old cruiser, 18 year old camry- hold on it was written off in a smash and no rust was evident.
New car has it because I haven't had a problem with the other vehicles.

All the best,
RA.

Gary,

Best to pick a chip that does not increase rail pressure.....I think something like the Steinbauer does not increase rail pressure but I am no expert. Just know of two wa fuel injection specialists that love chips that increase rail pressure...it has proven to be good business for them in blown rails (nephew is a diesel fuel injection specialist with one of them). The patrol will certainly need the extra boost if you are towing heavy loads.

I have always used erps for rust protection. I can recommend this product....but there are a number of them. Was following a prado on Monday that would have only been a couple of years old at the most (current shape) that had an impact on the back right panel above the lights....it had a healthy amount of surface rust at the sight of this impact.. I have had some descent abrasions over the years that have not been repaired in a hurry and they have remained free of rust.

Re rust protection..... love how some companies say you need it.

I can't remember the last time I had one of our 4x4 start rusting!

Most newish vehicles are sealed very well against corrosion, the thing I find amusing are the people who have them fitted saying how good they are ..... how do they know?; have they done testing of a similar vehicle that has gone everywhere there's has and driven the same!

We see many 4x4's with theses devices fitted and I can't tell the difference between the two.

I get great joy from the aftermarket sales people at dealership who try and sell you stuff when you buy a new vehicle..... Had a laugh about 4 years ago when we bought a new Falcon for our business...... got introduced to this bird who tried to tell use we needed this $800 paint protection as the paint used wasn't very robust and seeing it was a work vehicle the paint would last longer...... got the fleet manager over and in front of this bird I said to the fleet manager I wanted to cancel the contract as the vehicle we are buying hasn't got good paint on it...... when asked why I kindly refereed to the comments about not having robust paint..... both had this strange look on their face.

"heard from a guy, who knows a guy, whose bothers best mate....Said they were no good. "

Yeap this goes with the person who spent big money on one and says it' works and has no real proof it does or data to back his claim.... LOL.

I know this stuff works BUT for 99.9% of vehicle owners they will never know ..... if they didn't have it their vehicle wouldn't of rusted anyway!

Paint protection, fabric protection, engine and gear box additives and rust protection is all the same stuff but with a different sticker....
