Hi, we are looking for somewhere to stay for a night or two in
Bourke in early July. Have seen on the
forum a referral for May's Bend camping ground but it was from quite a few years ago. Has anyone stayed there recently & is it suitable for an on road van. Any other suggestions as to where to stay would be appreciated. Thanks Rachael

Mays Bend is an
unofficial camp spot on the
Darling River and access is via a black soil track through some goolgyes.
I have camped there a couple of times and really enjoyed
the spot with some fishing and walking. However it is not the place to be if there is any chance of rain.
Co-ordinates are. 30 02 23.9S 146 01 25.7E for a google look.
If in doubt stay at the Kidman Caravan Park Nth
Bourke where you can leave the van and explore the area. You can go to the tourist
shop and get a Key for Mt. Oxley where the
views of the surrounds are great with a nice
picnic area just near the top.
Cheers Dodg
