I am trying to decide what brands of extras to buy and I would appreciate feedback on the following items
Canopy: (smooth finish) I have looked at TJM and ARB as well as Caddy
Bullbar: ARB and TJMs premium bar, (want the bar to be winch comp)
Drawers: Black widow, ARB and Caddy

G'day Carl,

I've got the smooth-finished ARB canopy on my new BT-50. It's fantastic: great finish, not too high in profile and it integrates well with the vehicle. It has a lift up front window which allows for the cleaning of the glass between the ute and canopy. I can retro fit the steel framework required to add carry bars/roof rack.

I opted for the East Coast Bullbars aluminium bull bar - black ripple-painted finish - as I didn't require a winch - I have a hand winch. I didn't want to carry the extra weight of a steel bar either. It was bought through ARB.

I'm not doing the drawers thing. I'm having an ARB plastic ute liner installed and I'll be making up a framework to secure the fridge slide plus second battery, jerry cans, etc.

See my profile picture for the work in progress.

Cheers !

Netnut

Plastic ute liners move, if you get sand, grit etc under them they scratch the paint . Then if it gets moisture under it ,you have rust.

I had a spray on Rhino liner put in the tub. It`s tough stuff as it is used on horse float floors. 4mm on the floor and tail gate, 2/3mm on the sides.
Looks very neat and tidy.

It costs a lot more than the plastic liner. The Mazda sales man recommended it to me.

Maybe you should go and take a look at these products yourself and compare build quality etc to assist you in your purchase decision: for instance with the frontal protection bars, weld size/integrity, gauge of metal used in construction, umber of mounting points, inclusion of crushcans for energy absorbsion, ability to fit aerials etc etc

Carryboy also make a canopy for the B32P BT 50, they have an aerofoil spoiler do not know if it helps stop dust getting in but I will be inquiring for when I buy our new ute.
