Hi all

I am planing on putting a snorkel on the Challenger (Diesel), and wondering if there is any difference (quality/performance) between a Safari and a TJM.

Thanks all in advance.

Cheers Rob

Whichever you get it helps if the head of the snorkel can be turned backward in crap conditions.
Sometimes the shape of the snorkels make the head too close to the cars "A" pillar and the head cant be turned backwards.
Just my opinion.

Have a look on Ebay, there are companies selling snorkels there for less than 1/2 the Safari price.
Fit it yourself, its not that hard and they will probably have the 1st year apprentice cut holes in your car!
Remember-NO-ONE will take as much care as you fitting/touching up paint etc.

I have read bad things about ebay snorkels, poor templates, poor fabrication

I recently had a Safari installed and was happy to pay extra for an experienced fitter. Factory supplied, TJM or Safari should all be good quality.

Don't forget to extend diff/g'box breathers if you intend to also go through deep water.

I got one off Ebay from a mob in south aus, for my 02 Hilux. Cost me $197 18 months back. Fitted it my self, took about 3 hours. The template didnt look quitre right but it was easy to mark in situ.
Still looks and works perfectly. It hasnt collapsed from UV degradation, isnt faded or warped and looks as good as always.

I reckon you would likely find most snorkels are chinese made except someone else is getting the mark up.
