Hi all, am after advice on running an engel 40l fridge/freezer on solar for an extended camping trip. would 2/55 watt panels supply enough power to charge a deep cycle battery whilst running the fridge for an indefinite period and what size battery would be required. fridge would only be used for cooling drinks, gas fridge used for food. no shortage of sun up here in the top end. any advice would be appreciated, thnx

No probs there. I run an Engel 40 Litre fridge hooked up to a 115 amp/hour battery in an Ark battery pack and have a 100 watt panel to keep it trickled and it will go for ages even without full time sunshine.Keep yours in a bit of shade and you will be laughing.regards, Boof.
