Hi Broodie, if you look at the bottom of the box you type your thread/reply in there are some blue boxes. Click on the Insert image box it will tell you to browse to where the photos are filed. you will need to resize the photos to the size indicated in the pop-up box. There is also a title line which is what you want to call the photo. Let it load then press submit.

I'm going from memory here and not talking myself throughthe procedure.

If you have them stored on an external website such as Flikka or Picassa, Phot Bucket etc then use the Insert link function via a Hyper link.

Hi

Use the Insert Image button at the bottom of the new thread/message reply box (you'll have to add a new reply to your thread - you cant add pictures to an existing post)

Image Could Not Be Found

then click BROWSE to find the picture you want on your PC

Image Could Not Be Found

Type a name into the Description box (if you want) then click LOAD

Cheers

Hi

You shouldnt need to move the photo to the desktop - if it shows up using the Browse function it is accessible and should load. What exactly happens when you click the Load button (after browsing, selecting picture and adding description)? Does the spining icon show up as shown below?

Image Could Not Be Found

Are your pictures in jpg format?

I do apologise for all the trouble, yes the photo's are in Jpg format. the Icon does come up for a couple of seconds and then the whole lot goes back to where I got the file from the album that the photo's are in, then I get a red message saying the file could not be found, and then it asks me for an address, and then it just closes down and goes back to the original reply,
Could you give me some sort of an answer, Because I just don't know. thank you for your patience

Hi

Sorry...always hard to diagnose problems from afar. I have not seen your issue before and cant recreate it. Maybe someone else will pipe up and assist.

While we are waiting maybe try loading a small picture (as in small file size) from your desktop and see if that works. If that bombs out as well Im out of ideas.

Cheers
Greg

We are making progress, Greg, I have just had another go at trying to do it and all was going well until I got the message at the bottom of the screen saying that it was waiting for a response from Exploreoz, so something is working I think, and then it closed down. any clues.

OK...sounds like it worked...one thing I havent pointed out is that you wont actually see your picture until you Submit/Preview your message

All you will see in your draft is something like this

Did you get that far?

After you have loaded your image but before you hit the submit button, there is a "preview" button. That will allow you to see your post as it will appear on the forum. To view it scroll down after you hit the preview button.

Hi All. It was going well, and I thought that I had it beat but guess what the Photo's that I want to post now have a padlock on them, so I am going to have to go and find out how they got padlocked, this is so frustrating, anyway we seem to be making progress. Thank you very much for the help, I think I need to go and get the grand kids over here and let them loose, lol, or wait until my wife gets home as she knows a lot more than me about this sort of thing lol thanks for the help everyone it is very much appreciated.

Hi Steve, You seem to be more techno advanced than me. do you have any Idea how to get rid of padlocks on photo's, so that I can load them onto the forum, as I think that is the only thing that is stopping me now, thanks to every one else's input. According to the wife I can drive anything but a computer, and a mobile Phone, but I am learning how to do that LOL.[I think]

sorry Broods, got a bit excited there.

I reckon the padlocks will be more to do with where you store your photos and the accessibility/security of them but really, I'm not the best to answer that - i'm sure somebody will know.

Broodie,

I've Googled "padlocked files" and it is obviously a problem for many users of windows 7. If you are using windows 7, suggest have a look at this site or any of the other links that a google search brings up. I'm not especially computer literate so can't help directly and I find for this sort of incomprehensible behaviour there are often answers out there (or at least fellow sufferers!) This is another link that looks useful. Note that these relate to windows7 and only windows7 systems.

From what I've read, this is a widespread annoyance arising from erratic file locking for security reasons. If you can't make sense of it (and I know that feeling well!), maybe it's time to find a tech-savvy teenager to help!

Cheers

John

Broodie : Do you get update's regularly ? what type of internet service do you have ... wireless , ADSL , satellite ....do you know your speed ?
you'd think the lock may be your security settings .......
I have been using google chrome and that makes a big difference with explorOZ site, lot faster .
what also helps but not necessary is to ... make copy ,double click on pic > file > make copy ,right click on new pic >open with > Microsoft office picture manager > picture >resize > large web 640 x480 px ... then up load......

cheers nick

Hi Broodie,

How long to experience the CSR? We didn't do the full length, just from the northern end down a couple of days beyond the Talawana Track, then turned round and went back to Georgia Bore and west from there to replace a rear spring. Details here.

Some try to "do" the Canning in a week. Some say it can be done quicker than that. In our view there's little point in rushing such a trip - it costs a lot of fuel, depreciation, possibly/probably a tyre or two, etc and if you stop to explore and actually experience rather than just "do" it should take close to 2 weeks rather than one. Stopping to examine the detail is what makes this sort of trip so special.

BTW this is not a trip to undertake with a single vehicle. A capable companion vehicle can save a lot of shovel work, as well as providing a measure of safety. Towing a trailer isn't impossible, but any off-road trailer that would survive the trip is going to be pretty heavy and an annoying anchor on the dunes. Not trying to put you off - its a great trip and I'm sure that you will enjoy it.

Cheers

John

I should also mention that at times, more often than less, ExplorOz is very slow to update
It may well time out on you.

I don't care, as it's a ripper site, so be patient, and follow the instructions given.

Thanks every one for your help, in the end I have had to call out the tech spert, because even the guru of our house hold gave up at midnight last night after going into websites and following all instructions, as given on here with no success, we may have a bug in the system that wont let us load in case we corrupt the site we are trying to load to. that's what the tech spert reckons any way. once again thank you all for you input.
