I've just purchased a Toyota landcuriser 105 and am looking at replacing the tyres with Goodyear silent armor . I would like to hear anybody's feed back on these tyres .

Rob, I fitted a set of AT's last year and although I have only done under 20k's on them, they have been a good tyre. We did the
Hay River,
Gary Junction, Kidson Track and the GRR and had no problems with them at all.

I have a 105 that wieghs in at 3.2 tonne empty. I have run 3 sets of MTR'S previously getting between 50k and 70k.
Great tyre for my sort of work/travel, a little short on km's, but balance that with minimal punctures and no tyre problems, they are good.
I currently have a set of Silent Armours, they are good, a bit quieter, but only done about 12k in them so far.

I've had them on my GQ Patrol for 20k and just come back from a trip to NT with alot of corrugations.
They performed
well, although I have noticed a couple of chips out of the tread but likely from some
rock trails rather than corrugations. Plus I got a small sidewall
puncture (about 15mm from edge of tread)
They are still reasonably quiet and I am happy with them. For a vehicle which is very sensitive to balance, they come up quite good and their stopping traction is also good.
They did get a poor rating in 4x4 Australia (mag) a couple of years ago but I think they had mnore of a 4x4 bias in their tests.
I'm happy with them.

We have been operating the LT rated silent armours on two vehicles with excellent all round results. We find the AT's good for normal users but as a tour operator our cars are working a lot and so the move to the LT's has offered the following improvements; quieter than the AT's which is a surprise and much better than the MTRwKevlar we use on other vehicles. Improved steering response and better fuel consumption. I have two vehicles on
Cape York towing Ultimates at the moment with no problems at all
They are the choice of many miners around Australia for their great all round capability which seems a reasonable testimony
In my view a very good all round tyre and with an LT rating as good as they come for the majority of users. But you have plenty of choice
