If you have not done so yet, do yourself (and partner/family) a really feelgood favour and go and see "The Sapphires"
Has to be up there with "Red Dog" with that great Aussie outback humor and music.
Cheers,Bob.

Saw ‘The Sapphires’ last Thursday and agree a brilliant film with fantastic actors. Same for ‘The Hunter’ and ‘Red Dog’, and don’t forget ‘Bran Nue Dae’. All top quality and very entertaining movies.

I had a red Kelpie for 18 years & was really looking forward to seeing Red Dog,
to be honest, I couldn't have been more disappointed, thought it set back Australian movie making about 30 years.

i was told the same about red dog, crap movie.
and australia, could have been realy someting on australia but the hype was overkill, i had free tickets to any movie, gave them to a close girlfriend of mine, saved them for australia. but she went and pretty dissapointed, as i was when it came on tv.

Took hubby to see the movie. He's not into musicals but he and I enjoyed the movie. It's all about balance. Just the right amount of Aussie humour, Singing/Good music, scenery, culture. Yep. Just flammin' great all rounder. Made me laugh, cry and get annoyed and the stupid Irish gambler. Most of all made me remember and talk about it. Yep what a hit!!! Not gunna forget that one in a hurry. As for Red Dog yeah well, it was OK. I too was a little disappointed but this one is on a better level of creation. Well done to the creators!

Forgot to mention it was an honest film. I have met many of those girls as the actors portrayed them. The serious and a closeted(if that's a word) too scared to come out and be proud. The joker who takes things too far at times. The level headed one who's ready to take on the world if anyone puts them down. The young one who doesn't understand fear itself. Yeah, lots too think about.
