Drovers' Camp - Camooweal

Hello Folks,

The annual Drovers' Camp weekend kicks off this afternoon.

There's The Last Great Mail Race, and an auction this arvo, before all the action kicks off tomorrow. The Mail race is held down the main street of Camooweal, which as you all know is the Barkly Highway. All traffic is stopped for this exciting event!!!

The weekend has bush poetry, music, food and bronco branding. There's also an art exhibition, photo competition and displays of old droving and station gear. A concert is on Saturday night.

So if you aren't in the area this year, better mark the calendar for next year.

We're just about to pack the car , and head off this morning.

Bob.

Seen it all, Done it all.
Can't remember most of it.

Oh how I wish we could be there. We loved Camoweal when we visited two months ago, a small but extremely friendly place with a wonderful history the locals are only too happy to talk about. Did I mention the wonderful camping at the waterhole there? :-)

Have a great time - I will definately be thinking of you enjoying yourself!

cheers
Sue
