Does anybody know if the billabongs just past Camooweal are accessible by 2WD?

We were looking to camp there but only have a Mazda CX9.

The description we had to get there was as follows:

At Camooweal pass through the town and you will find two bridges. Between them on the south side is a track leading down to the stockyards. Take this track and you will come to a series of waterholes or a creek (depending on rain??) and you can camp anywhere along here. No facilities.

Hi Ken & Tania

you will have no problems with a 2wd car. We towed a 21ft caravan in there ok in 2wd with our patrol.
Your directions are correct also.

Yep, no problems with a 2wd. If the first lagoon is a bit crowded there is a second one, just keep following the track along. There are also wheelie bins there now.
Just watch the weather as the dirt can turn to sticky mud very quickly.

Look out for the rain. Make sure it is not going to rain overnight or you might be there longer thane xpected. Go to the second lagoon and get up early for the sunrises. Fantastic pics.

we were there about 6 weeks ago as well and it rained for about 10 minutes late in the afternoon, so we moved to the grassed area in between the first billabong and the road that goes down past the cattle yards and just to do that I had to go into 4wd otherwise we wouldnt have got out
