I have inherited a 1980 Jayco Swan Caravan. I have put a new roof on it, re done the seats ( the leaking roof had rotted them out) re done the bench tops. Re covered the seats. Everything is pretty much done except now the winder cable has broken i think.

I had it up earlier today and I wound it down to take to Vic Roads for the Rego inspection. I brought it home and went to put it back up and it won't wind at all. I believe the winder cable has either snapped or broken.

Any suggestions on how I can either fix it, get it up, who can put a new one in.

I was all set to go away on Friday so I am hoping it is not a huge issue.

Fingers crossed.

G'day Sarah G1

The Jayco Swan and all the variants in the Jayco wind up roof campers are relatively easy to repair (winder/riser cable).

There is a fairly informative step by step explanation on the net ~ just Google
Jayco Swan winder cable repair ........ obviously you will require the parts to effect the repair.
