I am not sure which
McGowan Island the previous reviews were based on but I don't agree.
The appaling road there, even by Kikmberley standards is horrid. On entry you think you're entering a junk yard. Then the welcome by the owner who lacks personality as
well as a shirt set the scene.
Shaded sites are first in best dressed. For $20 of your hard earned per head you get a patch of dirt and nothing else but a view.
No hot shower (next to no water pressure when you have a cold one)
No
toilet paper (use your own)
No rubbish collection (take it with you)
No locks on shower or
toilet doors
No power
You would think you'd get soem service for that price..no. The
free camping here at Gunn Point in the NT is much more attractive than McGowan's Island.
Save your money and fuel and don't bother. I hear
Honeymoon Bay is much friendlier
