I was wondering if anyone who has visited the theme parks took their own food or could they suggest where in the parks is good value for money to eat.

I worked in one of them for a while and I would suggest you pack food. You will not be able to enter with an eski or an obvious picnic overflowing from your day pack but if you're feeding a family it is very expensive at all food venues inside the parks. The most expensive hot chips and pies in the world

Perhaps budget for a park lunch and take your own snacks or budget for at least one fun park snack because they really know how to make you hungry with the wonderful smells wafting out of all the food venues.

All the parks, except Cades County, will have one flash restaurant serving good quality food but be prepared to pay an arm and a leg.

...and just a gentle reminder to secure your car (ie make sure you really did lift all the windows) and either carry or hide valuables. The undesirable members of society know that you'll be gone for quite a few hours...

Remember one thing.

ALL the major theme parks on the gold coast are now owned by Warner Brothers, all the food stalls are operated directly or indirectly by Warner brothers......there is no good deal on food, that is the whole point of a theme park......to extract as much cash from every single person that enters the park.

They will do whatever they can to discourage you from taking food or drink into the park AND they will do whatever they can to keep you there long enough that you have to eat there.

Cheers

quote from movie world page

""You are not permitted to bring in food and drink including eskies and coolers. Guests with the following dietary requirements are exempt from this policy:

Guests with allergies
Infants and babies
Pre booked education groups

You can bring in fruit and bottled water.""

so take snacks and drinks in with you. take lunch in eski but leave in car... get a pass out and picnic outside.. enjoy the parks.

cheers mike

hey katz, Dreamworld & Whitewater world are not owned by warner bros, and are independants. They also still allow you to take in your own food. Dreamworld has one ''fancy'' restaurant which is 20 bucks a head and kids free, which is not bad.
