Bonya is a small Eastern Arrente Aboriginal community located approximately 400km from
Alice Springs along the
Plenty Highway. Bonya, also known as Ortippa Thurra, has an estimated
population of 200 residents. The Community Health Centre is managed by the Northern Territory Government Department of Health and Community
Services and provides primary health care
services to the residents of Bonya Community through a mix of Aboriginal Health Workers, Registered Nurses and visits by a District Medical Officer.
Visiting health professionals include: 1-2 times per year visits from physician, surgeon, ophthalmologist, paediatrician, renal physician, women’s health and dental team.
