Winter camp fire cocktails


  • Rum (I prefer spiced ie Captain Morgan, red leg)
  • boiling water
  • 1 x Tsp brown sugar or coffee crystals work well although golden syrup gives a great caramel flavour
  • a a stick of cimanin, or as our 7 yr old says - cinnamon!
  • small bit of butter approx 1 tsp, non salted for the health conscience


  • Step 1in a cup or glass, add sugar/syrup, cinnamon and butter.
  • Step 2half fill with the boiled water and stir rigorously until sugar & butter dissolves and becomes aromatic.
  • Step 3Top up with rum (2 or 3 shots dependant on how cold it is) and continue stirring until all ingredients are combined.
  • Step 4let sit for a couple of minutes then ENJOY :)
  • Step 5not the sort of drink you could drink all night but a delicious night cap that warms the heart and tummy of a chilly camper
