Roasted Whole Pumpkin

Cook a whole Queensland Blue or Jap Pumpkin stuffed with flavour in a camp oven.


  • 1 x Pumpkin (sized to fit inside camp oven with lid on)
  • 1 x tub of sour cream
  • 1 x packet French Onion soup
  • 1 x packet bacon bits


  • Step 1Cut pumpkin stem out with sharp knife (45° angle) and leave a 10cm hole
  • Step 2Remove all seeds and loose pulp
  • Step 3Mix all ingredients and insert into hole until full
  • Step 4Replace stem top to seal ingredients in
  • Step 5Cook in camp oven 'slowly' for 3 hours (coals bottom and top)
