The Small-Toothed Flounder

This peculiar species Lie solely on the seabed on one side of their body. Have both eyes on the other side. Flounders are flatfish which can be found in bays and estuaries.

Bottom fishing on sand flats is a good method to land flounder. They can be taken at night with live bait or a trolling lure.

2 - 4kgs on the main line. Use No. 2 or No. 8 - 2 Longshank. Light rig is needed with a running sinker heavy enough to keep bait on the bottom

 Eating a Small-Toothed Flounder

Popular restaurant fish, flounder produce thin fillets bearing a light grey flesh with light flavours. The flesh is usually dry with a low to medium oiliness.
