• Track logs

• Device position history where tracking or server synchronisation is enabled

Location access is controlled by the user through the application settings and device operating system permissions. Some ExplorOz features require location access to operate correctly.

Tracking Services

Tracking functionality is controlled by the user and can generally be enabled or disabled within the application settings.

Where live tracking, server tracking, or synchronisation features are enabled, location data may be uploaded to ExplorOz servers to provide tracking, sharing, storage, backup, synchronisation, and related services.
Users are responsible for managing their own tracking privacy settings, including whether tracking information is private, shared, or publicly visible.

Public Track Logs and Shared Location Information

If a user chooses to make a track log, Trek, Place, position, or other location-based content public, that information may be visible to other users and may be indexed by search engines or third-party systems.

Users should take care when sharing location information publicly, especially where it may reveal home addresses, private campsites, regular travel patterns, or the location of other people.

Geofencing

Some ExplorOz services may use geofencing features to trigger notifications, alerts, or location-based functions based on geographic boundaries or locations.

Geofencing functionality operates only where enabled by the user and where supported by the relevant device, application, or service.

Certain content submitted to ExplorOz services may be publicly visible depending on the settings and features used by the user.
This may include:

• Forum posts
• Comments
• Blogs
• Reviews
• Public track logs
• Public Treks
• Public Places contributions
• Classified advertisements
• Shared media and images

Publicly shared content may be visible to other users, search engines, third-party indexing systems, and online services.

Users should exercise care when sharing personal information publicly, including names, phone numbers, addresses, travel plans, location details, or identifying information relating to themselves or other people.
ExplorOz cannot control how publicly shared information may be copied, indexed, archived, or reused by third parties once published publicly.

Payments for ExplorOz products and services may be processed through third-party providers including Apple App Store, Google Play, PayPal, banking institutions, and payment gateway providers.

Subscription billing for in-app subscriptions is managed by the relevant app store provider.
ExplorOz does not receive or store full payment card details processed by these third-party providers.
We may receive limited transaction, entitlement, or subscription status information necessary to validate purchases, manage access to services, and provide customer support.

Use of third-party payment services is also subject to the privacy policies and terms of those providers.

ExplorOz takes reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed completely secure. Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their own devices, passwords, login credentials, and account access.

Data Retention

ExplorOz retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide products and services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain system integrity, and support operational requirements. Users may request account deletion or removal of certain personal information. Some information may be retained for legal, accounting, fraud prevention, security, operational, or backup purposes for a limited period after account deletion.

Public contributions or content shared with other users may remain visible where removal is not technically or operationally practical.

In the event of a data breach likely to result in serious harm, ExplorOz will comply with obligations under the Australian Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Users may request access to personal information held by ExplorOz and may request corrections where information is inaccurate or outdated. Users may also request account deletion or removal of certain personal information where appropriate. Requests should be made in writing.

Children

ExplorOz services are not specifically directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent.
