I enjoy the outdoors and camping [tent]. My wife and I now own a Navara and an old Kimberley Kamper but I am new to the whole 4x4 thing and camper trailers.

Want to plan a trip to the Barossa and Kangaroo Island for March and am looking for suggestions on a route and must see's or do's, the easier the better I would have though, but interesting.

Any suggestions? Thinking no more than 3 weeks away.

Greg,
We did the reverse trip (Adelaide to Brissy) and loved every minute of it. Our aim was to stay away from cities as much as possible.

Our trip was Adelaide, to Marree the back way through Clare and Orroroo (going past the Barossa and the Flinders Ranges), up the Birdsville track to Birdsville, across to Windorah, up to Longreach, across to Rockhampton, down to Moorychedore (spell check!!!) then onto Brissy and the B/S theme parks for the kids.

There's so much to see and do along the way. All up we were 3 weeks on the road too, but that included a 4 day stay in Canberra on the way back, which was through Tamworth and Bathurst.

Just an idea although I do appreciate it's not the shortest way and it would have you heading north before coming back down south.

Fab.

Hi Greg
we went and toured Kangeroo Island from Perth WA a few years back.
The ferry is very expensive. I'm sure the ferry to Tassie is cheaper!!

I do have a tip!!

You can get a good discount by going on the last ferry each day!!

Cheers

Pete
