Just came back from a trip on the South Coast and I am disapointed with CALMs road condition in that park. The corrigations from Bremer Bay and also from the Hopetoun end was shocking. The other parks in the area the local rangers dragged tyres and rail line which had made a difference but the rangers in the Fitzgerald have not come up with that plan yet.

The excuse of traffic should not be an issue with that time of year it should at least be drivable.

Hi Brad, was down there a couple of years back & found the access roads to the park entrance were in reasonable condition as this was Dept.Main Roads responsibilty, but the park roads were corrigated. Are you saying that all the access roads from Bremer Bay & the Hopetoun end are just as bad? I was planning to go down there in a few weeks time.Have Wheels Will Travel

Hi Topcat Icame through the park from Hopetown to the main rd (plot point file I have just loaded) I found this road fine, sadly did not get the time to go further as we were on our way home . I did however have to put a Surf back on its wheels and call for the ranger via the VKS737 network , so watch the speed as some tight corners come up quick . If you get time travel the road east of Hopeton to Esperance I came across a few graet camp sites right on the beach this road is also on the plot file well worth a look some of the camping areas were great if you had kids .See Mason bay camping area 33 57' 26.2 S 120 28' 42.6E99 GU Patrol 4.2 TD

The main Roads side of things was good, but as said the Park roads are corrigated fairly heavily. From Bremer side to the point Anne turn off it was fairly hard going but once passed that it was OK up to the highway. At the Hopetoun end it was getting rough in a few spots but was OK in some others. I expect in a week or two without any work on them they will be a good Gibb River equivelant.
