For a moment there I thaught this was a thread about phone reception on Frazer Island.
Arested for using a sat phone......Glad I don't want to go to India.

Seems like a person could place the same calls on an Iridium, globalstar, or Inmarsat phone as they could on a Thuraya. So why wouldn't the terrorists, whatever, etc. just switch brands now that Thuraya is banned?

If their funding is drying up, that wouldn't be a bad thing. :p
My mistake, I just checked Globalstar's coverage map and see they doesn't offer service in that part of the world. And yes, Iridium is pricey (but the best provider by far).
