Our 'lifestyle' is onroad camper trailering....and powered sites.
No children, no dogs, no bicycles or seaside parks.
We are looking for tranquility...without the Kimberlys...regardless of how tranquil that can be!!!

Is there any websites that could provide a database for our lifestyle that we can peruse...

We believe that we are in the minority...so we are not expecting a flood of replies....but if you don't ask.......

Try camping in cemeteries.....very tranquil there:-)))) Jokes aside, you will find tranquility when you find peace of mind and that could be anywhere. I would up the inland roads, west of the great divide, in Victoria, NSW and Queensland where you will find lush green environment and peaceful rural settings away from the mainstream travellers.

Cheers,

Willem

Hi Claude,
You raise an interesting point - powered sites without people/dogs/chn etc. Almost impossible to find! After circumnavigating Australia's coastline for the first time, we eventually realised that there is virtually no tranquility where there is modern conveniences - we simply have a lot of people searching for the same thing in this country - and its the same thing that the foreign campers are searching for. It's a year-round issue. Our solution was to head inland - and here is where we find our solitude, and hence much of the ExplorOz site has extensive information on remote camping getaways because so little is publicised about it. You will not find powered sites in the deserts but some of it can certainly be done with camper trailers. People who camper trailer through the more remote outback areas of Australia can still do so with all the mod cons of power by investing in power inverters in their vehicles, possibly some solar panels etc.
Enjoy your travels - we all desire the tranquility you seek and many of us achieve it by thinking outside the square.ExplorOz

Thanks to all your responses.

New Zealand - our budget doesn't stretch to the transport expenses crossing the 'ditch'.!!!

Mars and tranquility? I thought the moon had that option.

Re-inland and the 'heart' of Aus. Our 'rig' (forgive the americansm) is more suited to the Aus bitumen...but as we have discovered, you can still have your cake...and eat it. Stepping outside the 'nine points' i.e. solar etc...is on the cards..but not until my wife retires...she married old and I married young!! so we have a couple of years to prepare....in the meantime.....Henry the Honda and The Kudu will have to do the job.

Thanks
Claude
