I am looking for a place for a short stay in Alice. Just one or two nights on our way to Canning SR. The Temple Bar sounds like a good choice, out of town and quiet.
Is this a good place for a short stay?

Not flash but cheap (or was in 2008). Yes, quiet, safe and secure just out of town. We grew to love the place. We were devastated when they were fully booked the following year and hated it in town. PM me if you would like a full run down.

We stayed there last year and loved it. The showers are basic, but heaps of hot water and they were clean. It can get busy so it is best to ring before you drive out there. Sometimes they will not take bookings. Pretty cheap to stay and a very quite spot, not that far from town. If you continue along Ilparpa Rd there is another park further along if this one is full, I can not recall the name. Ilparpa Rd also continues to larapinta Drive (Red Centre Way.)
This was out spot..

Wanngardi on the road side of the creek - sort of in front of this one that backs onto the range. Although not as dear as in town - Wanngardi is dearer than Temple Bar.

Kris and Ken , thanks for the info, we will make a booking and I am sure it will be our cup of tea, previously we stayed at Heavy Tree Gap and we were not really at "home".
Cheers and thanks, Chris
