If you own an Icom IC400PRO how do you programme in the 88 extra RECEIVE ONLY channels, do you need a computer/software to do it OR do you do it via the front buttons/knobs? Regards Mike

Hi , Mike

I bought IC400Pro last week after did my research on this Web site. from what I know you need to bring your unit to authorised dealer to program your unit to receive/transmit 25 watts of extra 88 channels. also a license is needed to operate these 88 channels.
I used this uint during this long weekend and found it is second to none.

Mike

I am looking at getting the same unit, and as best I gather from all sources, the extra 88 channels can be programmed both from the front panel, or using additional cables and pc software. Look in the back of the instruction booklet to see how to do it, apparently its burried there somewhere. You don't need a license to program these 88 channels, since (i guess) they are receive only and you can do no harm since you cannot transmit on them. As far as going upto 25watts a dealer is probably best to do this and its at this stage that you probably need a licence to transmit at this power output.
