I love this place, over 20 years ago my mate & I drove from
Melbourne to
Perth in 4 days. The second night we arrived @ the
Nullarbor Roadhouse around 4pm. I was staggered at our barren this place is. A huge contrast from anything I'd seen previously. It's an iconic place & a perfect place to stop & re-charge overnight.
If you get the chance after dark, as I did take a walk 400 metres or so down the highway & experience the complete silence & utter isolation. Situated in the middle of the treeless plain, while there's no doubt more remote
places to visit in our country, for me the
Nullarbor Roadhouse stands out for me as being a place I'd suggest people visit to experience the contrasts Australia can deliver.
