When?

If now, keep an eye on the cyclone. Some have a habit of heading south/south west through the Goldfields bringing lots of rain with them.

We are wanting to get on the road this weekend. We will monitor the cyclone, but want to know track conditions.

hi marni G
here is the website of the shire that controls that rd
www.dundas.wa.gov.au/roads
i noticed they limit the vehicles weight to 3.5tonnes for the rd you are going onguess thats so it wont get to cut up during wet periods
cheers

Did it a few weeks ago, was very slow going and shook the crap out of everything. Next time I will be heading back into Esperance and up to Norsman

PS. We snapped the weld clean off on the suspension of the camper trailer. Even when driving slow and with the correct tyre pressure. We were also towing the same camper as you. Jayco swan outback

Hi Marni,

Some more info in this thread here. The northern section of that road does not appear to be maintained and is pretty rough in places. If there has been any rain in that area I would consider another route.

Cheers,

Val
