We were planning to head for Fraser Range with our caravan today (currently in Jerramungup) but the weather report looks a bit nasty. Anyone currently on the Nullarbor between Norseman and Eucla who can give us an update on current weather conditions please ?

not there but the radar shows the centre of the rain band pretty well on top of Fraser Range at the moment.

That could be a pretty good indication that they have problems there at the moment....

I know they do have comms problems at times. I guess you may have to keep trying.

hi old mal
here is a website that gives upto date weather imfo for just about any town or area in autralia
www.ozforecast.com
when it opens you simply print the name of town or locality in the box provided and clck enter it will come up usually with 4 names within that area
it gives current conditions eg; rain /temp/wind speed and directions strongest gust etc then if you click on any of the town names in the list and scroll down
it will give you all of the imfo for that town or locallity for last 24hrs
i just looked at it and norseman has had only 1.4mls of rain today at 7am and there is no drama's weather wise in that area that i can see
you will find that site a great help when travelling i think
cheers

Gidday

Looking at the observations page on the BOM web site and tracking back a few hours at a few locations it seems it is still raining in Laverton and Leonora , has been raining in Kalgoorlie and hasnt rained muchyet at norseman. That would suggest to me the rain band still has a way to go on its passage to the south.

Cheers

We spent 3 full days there late last year in pissistant rain. Not fun. No reflection on the place, I'm sure it great in fine weather.

Old Mal

I would be interested in knowing what you decided to do,

Just for others who might be interested, the maxium temp in Kalgoorlie today was 15,4C and in the six hours to 3pm there was 45 mm of rain to go with the 24 overnight. I realise this pales into insignificance compared to some of the totals in Queenlsand and NSW over the last few weeks but it is a fair bit for us. There will be some very muddy tracks around Kal for those planning to get out in the bush this long weekend.

Cheers
