Hi everyone, I am looking at getting a winch for my 100 series and there is so many new bands on the market now that I'm confused. Years ago Warne
winches where the ants pants but the cost was a factor , now there are so many on the market. Is there a good value winch or
winches that are good value for money and still get you out of sticky situations

There are a few good
winches for around the $1000--$1500 that seem to be reliable and do a good job.
Winches are a funny thing...... you rely on them to get your self out of dangerous or difficult situations but people seem to spend the least amount on them.
We have a Warm M12000 that are over priced in Australia at about $2800+, I have heard of others importing them from the USA for about the $1600-1800 mark including freight.
Can I ask why you want a winch and where are you going to need a winch.
Have a look at this website......

Hi Ian, have a look at the link below. They sell ironman
winches and ours is fitted to a 100 series and am happy with it.

Aldi for me. The one on this car is 4yrs old and gets used commercially for straightening fence lines and 4wd/bobcat/(small) truck recovery. When this ute gets replaced later in the year a brand spanking $398 9500lb aldi winch will be taking pride of place.

agree with gbc, I have a warne 9000 and my brother and all of his mates have the aldi
winches, they dont quite match the warn , but bloody close and much much cheaper. this is the 3rd car that the warnes been on (12 years old)only swapped from car to car because it cost me so much in the first place, if i was to buy another id probably get an aldi type due to the quaility and price.

My post will not be about any brand but of requirement. I had a winch on my Troopy , it was a 9,500 and it usually did the job until one day in 2010 I got bogged in sucking Top End mud, the 9500 nearly did the job of extraction until it burnt out, so I would recommend going a step further than a 9,500 and get a 12,000 .
