Carrying a boat with a caravan is allways a problem. Can,t mount it on the car. Just wondering whether you could mount a small punt on top of a pop up Van?? Suitable Roof racks wood have to be mounted on the Van. Has anyone done it?

Mate I know you where advised to not put it on your roof in and earlier thread, but really flat bottom punts are so light , I cant see it being a problem, usuaslly only about 40kg. Well with in your roof limits. Get it weighed to be sure.
Cheers Pete

Yeah, Thanks Pete, I had a 12 foot v Bottom mounted on my trusty old XB falcon Sedan and carted it everywhere and eventually mounted it on top of a campervan. I know the X Trail would do the job, but just wondering whether anyone has mounted a small boat on a pop up Thanks JOHN

Have seen it done, probably not my way to do things. However people install roof top airconditioners with weight around 45kg. I suppose if one checked it all out properly, check manufacturers specifications for van etc. Even talk to engineer etc.

Mount one of the boat racks you see on hard floored camper trailers. See no difference in your pop top and a hard floored CT in this regard.
