You may have heard of Blaze Aid. If not then take the time to find out how much assistance they have provided to farmers suffering from property destruction caused by fire or flood since the Black Saturday bushfires on , 7 February 2009.

Sadly, I heard on 774 ABC Radio Melbourne that Kevin Butler the founder of Blaze Aid is himself in serious trouble health wise. I also heard that he and his wife needed help with his property especially from anyone experienced with sheep and shearing and crutching. The property is in Kilmore, Victoria. This was on the radio on Friday 22nd March 2013, on Jon Faine's program and has been been confirmed by one of the Blaze Aid organisers on the Caravaners Forum.

Can anyone with relevant skills help?

G'day WBS

There is a website that is a bit like a homesitters site in that it looks for folk with farm experience, or retired farmers, to caretake farms for short periods. Others may know the details (and I'll do a search), but it could be the answer in this case.

Good luck.

G'day WBS

I appreciate that you were relaying info from ABC Radio and not directly involved, but that website is www.frontierservices.org.

Cheers
