Hi all, we are travelling to the
yorke peninsular and would like some suggestions on good camping and fishing spots. We prefer to
bush camp as much as possible, close to some good fishing and crabbing spots preferably. Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

Hi, if you visit
http://www.harvestcorner.com.au/#!tourism/c5a2 you'll find lots of information about
bush camping sites on
Yorke Peninsula - you could also call the VIC at Minlaton on 08 88532600. There is no way to reserve or book a site, so if you're thinking of coming over
Easter, you'll have to be prepared to share!
Cheers,
Cathy

Hi
There are many such spots down that way and depends on where you want to stay.
Such
places where you can
camp almost right on
the beach are
places like Point Souttar,
Corny Point (near the
lighthouse),
Gleesons Landing,
Gym Beach and the list goes on.
It is a great place to visit with lots to see. If you have not been there before, open my blog below from when we were down there last in January.

Have a great time down there.
Cheers
Stephen

Hi Stephen,
Going by these photos it looks like we will have to go further than the Daughters in
Ardrossan one weekend. Very informative Blog.
Also I think you should be in photography for a career !
Cheers, have an enjoyable
Easter.

Hi Paul
If you have not been any further than
Ardrossan, it is
well worth the drive and the bottom end of the Peninsula is one place that we never get sick of visiting.
Now photography as a career would be great, better than what I am doing now....lol
We are over at
Renmark and having a great time, and all to best also to you for
Easter.
Cheers
Stephen

Ah Stephen your blog is wonderfully comprehensive and great pix too. Did I detect a little irony when the wind sprang up one morning. We were there in Sept and battled with the breezes. One evening at
Stenhouse Bay it had calmed right down up at the
lighthouse, luring us into a false sense of security. It was too good to be true and by 1 a.m. it was blowing a gale back at Cable Bay and the tent pole springs were squeaking. I spent the rest of the night in the car! Ahh, memories.....W

Hi Warrie
Thanks for that. Like many coastal locations around our great country, the wind can spring up when you least expect it...lol
Cheers

There are a few
good camp spots just north of
Balgowan (on the west side). One of the least used of the good camping areas, though as mentioned, I wouldn't bank on having a lonely time over
Easter!
Cheers,
Mark
