Not me, but the neighbour tows a Jayco rear entry van. He is very pleased with his rig.

The 2.4 litre models are rated to tow 1500 kg and the 3.0, 1600 kg. There are plenty of small vans and camper trailers with ATM weights under those figures for you to choose from. (ATM = aggregate trailer mass, or in other words the maximum weight your van is permitted to be loaded.) When looking at the vans ATM and not the tare weight. for preference select a van with an ATM of 50 - 100 kg less than the tow vehicles maximum capacity, this gives you a little safety factor.

Always a good idea to have a cooler fitted if you are going to do any towing..

The 2.2 diesel is a Peugeot motor that is in a number of different cars. A very good motor, well tried, economical and powerfull.

Not sure about the towing side of things, but for as a 4x4 it should go fairlry well.

I recently went on a 4x4 driving course which consisted of sand driving over some really boggy sand tracks and very big dunes, there was an Outlander in the group and everyone was really impressed at how well it went. It went everywhere the others went and didn't get stuck, there were a few times when the driver had to re try but that wasn't due to the car, it was due to driver error.
