Hello all,
On a recent run down
Hay river track and back I went past a sign post with O'TOOL'S Tk on it, north of Maddigans
camp 16. It had broken off the post and laying in scrub but originally would have been facing roughly west.
I have done a net search etc. but cannot find any info, does anyone know anything about this track?

Hi Chris,
we camped there on our trip north in early Sept 2012.
Like you, we found the sign post under a tree off the side of the track.
I stood it up at the
track intersection before we left.
If I remember correctly, there was a note in the bottle attached the sign post, detailing a couple of vehicles that were about to tackle O'Tooles track. I cannot recall the dates on the note.
It maybe coincidence, but maybe someone doesn't like people knowing about O'Tooles track.
Regards.
Peter

Thanks for the reply Peter,
Yes there was a plastic bottle taped to the post, you can see it in the picture holding the sign, not much left of what was inside do to the conditon of the bottle.
If someone was about to tackle the track then someone must know something about it and where it goes,
Can only but keep searching.

There's a bit about it here
O'Tooles track
Just scroll down through the thread. Seems like it was to do with celebrating O'Tooles 40th birthday.

Thanks Greybeard,
They certainly went to some trouble.
Must be a pretty short track if, as they say, it goes from before Maddigan
Camp 16 to the
Hay River Track.
