Googled it and here is a piece of interesting trivia, an ad for the station back in 1866
"FOR SALE, the RUINED CASTLE
CREEK STATION (with Improvements),
comprising 65 square
miles of
well-grassed
Country, intersected by permanent waters, and
encircled by natural barriers. it is situated in
a district which has been long settled, and in an
easily accessible position, being in the immediate neighborhood of
Taroom, and thus only
about 120
miles from
Rockhampton. The
tenure is a fourteen years' lease under the new
Regulations, subject to an annual rental of
£30.
As, if desired, the Run will be sold without
any stock, a rare opportunity is presented to
those who seek to engage in Pastoral pursuits
on a small scale, but desire room for the exten-
sion of operation.
Purchase Money, £400.
