Hello Robert
Go to the Castrol site and there you will find in FAQ a selection of Nissan Patrol engine models. Choose yours and it will display all the lubricants for you vehicle.

Mechpete is spot on.
I personally use Castrol Magnatec in my Misti (10W/40). However....

Nissan is one manufacturer that use a light weight oil across their whole range. Perhaps their engines work to tighter tolerances, who knows. I worked for them for a while but never questioned it.

I'd stick to what they recommend.... at least until the engine gets old and becomes hungry for oil.

Fab.

I use the same 15w/40 in my 2012 Patrol and so does the Nissan dealer who does my every 10000km service. Ive only done 15000km in mine so far so good.
