Hi, We are looking at travelling the Tanami Track in June from Alice to Halls Creek. We have a Landcruiser Troopy fitted out as a camper van. The trouble is that it's a petrol vehicle with an LPG second tank. We get up to 800kms range on this setup (90l ULP, 90l LPG). If we do it, we'll need to refuel along the way...

I'm guessing that LPG will be unavailable on the Tanami, but what about ULP/ OPAL?

Cheers
Rob

G'day Rob,

Opal is available at Tilmouth RH, Yuendumu Community Store, Balgo Community (but it's about 40 kms off the Road) and Billiluna.

It's about 600 kms from Yuendumu to Billiluna.
Check the opening times and days with your travel itinerary.

Hoo roo,
Steve

I would definitely be taking two jerry cans along for backup if I were you.

If you can safely carry juerry cans, I'd agree with Merv.

We have a range of 1000kms with our diesel 80 series. I'd rather have spare fuel.

Just make sure you have Opal in them when you leave Alice Springs if you do.
