hello im just reading the trek notes for bogy hole NT & the distacne is 114ks with average speed of 34ks & driving time of 3hrs 20mins so far so good but why is it a recommended minimum driving time of 2 days to drive the 3 1/2 hrs if i started the track at 10am & had 6 x 1/2 hr detours/walks plus the 3 1/2 hrs drive time wouldnt i be at the end at 4.30pm the same day ???

Yes in theory but this is not the point we recommend at least 2 days for this trek firstly to stop and camp at the Hole in the middle and at 4:30PM at the end where would you then go? So hence we recommend you set two days for this trip.
