For those interested ... I have just traveled from Geelong to Adeliade with a 14 ft van staying roughly on the speed limit ,not on "ecno"... It handled the job with flying colours .. No over heating , excessive gear changing and best of all an average of. 12.5 - 13 Ltrs/100 Ks all up......

That motor is a Ford and is in quite a few cars-
Mk IV Mondeo, Ford S-Max, Ford Galaxy, Peugeot 407, Peugeot 4007, Peugeot 607, Citroën C5, Citroën C6, Citroën C-Crosser, Land Rover Freelander 2, Mitsubishi Outlander, Range Rover Evoque.
It pulls very
well and is very reliable.

The 2.2 Diesel out of the Outlander is a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries developed engine, same as the 1.8 out of the ASX. Just not long ago finished testing an LS Outlander for a week and got down to as low as 4.8 sitting on the freeway in Melb from Deer Park to Glen Waverly.
Other run to
Ballarat got down to 5.6. Great combination of that 2.2 and the six speed auto in the Outlander and rather impressive how
well it goes.

I have it in my Freelander 2, very impressive and I recall my interest when I first heard it was going in the new Outlander a while back. I thought it strange but I think the new Peugeot crossovers are rebadged Outlanders.
