To all members we are travelling to the Cape and decided to stop in Marreeba at a caravan park as you do from time to time. We chose Marreeba Riverside Caravan Park.
We paid for our unpowered site $20, tracked around to bay did uturn and left with out even asking for our money back. It was in such a state I have forwarded a letter to the CEO of Mereeba outlining the scenario. Members dont even contemplate staying there kind regards Alan.

G'day Alan,
Sorry that you had this unfortunate experience.
We don't stay in CVP's very often, but when we do, we ALWAYS ask to have a look at the site before we commit.
Cheers
Baz

Nick around to the Rodeo Grounds.

From memory, $15 per night, powered sites. Excellent.

I'm glad I ain't too scared to be lazy

I may be a bit Quirky but I loved Granite Gorge Conservation Park.

The Mareeba Unadorned Rock Wallabies there are IMHO the cutest marsupial ever made.
The park is pretty rough and ready , but fire pits are supplied for each? campsite.
The amenities are a bit rough but compensated for by a rock wallaby coming and sitting on your foot when you are sitting by the fire.

It is a nice little place to stay with a good feel. Amenties are a bit rough but clean when we were there.

We also stayed at Granite Gorge when we were in the area a couple of years ago and thought it was lovely. We enjoyed the walks there and the quiet.

We did go and have a look at one park in Mareeba first, although I can't recall the name of it, and decided not to stay there because it looked very dodgy!

Also thought the Rodeo Grounds looked packed and dusty so it didn't appeal however that was personal opinion. Haven't stayed there and it is conveniently located, closer to town.

regards,
Heather
