I'm wondering if anyone who has used UHF in the Wonnangatta Valley has reached a repeater and if so which channel/s and where in the valley. I know there's a full list of repeaters on this site but their names don't always indicate their location to the uninitiated. I'll be trying for the Fire lookout Tower on the Pinnacles on Ch8 but am wondering if there are any others that are likely.
Thanks

While I don't know about the repeaters, we were up at the fire tower on the long weekend and they advised us about movement of vehicles on Billy Goat Bluff track. Most groups were using Channel 10 (now 4WD channel) so they must have been scanning the channels. I guess this doesn't answer your question but if you are in the area you should be able to reach them.

Thanks Ray It's helpful to know if there's a chance as opposed to a complete waste of time trying!

Mick you will be able to use Ch 8 at the Pinnacles to talk from Wonnangatta. You will probably have to move around to find the best location but you can do it. The Pinnacles repeater is down on performance at the moment but is due for maintinence soon.
