Although I haven't Graeme, I know someone who recently has with no problems. It is a great drive, outlined in My Blogs from 2009.

Graeme, this tends to be a well used and maintained section of road. It does get a lot of traffic though and can get a bit rough in places but not exceptionally so in the grand scheme of things. There are rockier spots a little further to the west but no real issue as long as you slow down and drive to the conditions. The most deterioration occurs around access roads to, and the communities themselves although they do try and grade these areas frequently.

Hi Graeme I went last year in July and it was fantastic, they grade it often and it was good all the way.We went onto Rudall River National Park (Desert Queen Baths) via the Telfer mine road and then on to Marble Bar.
