I have a Saturn travellers mate antenna that is hooked up to a 12v tv and/or laptop tuner, I was wondering if there is anyone that has this setup to an iPad and can watch free to air tv with no Internet, this would be much easier to do in a camper trailer than carrying around all the bits and peices required for power conversion and inverters etc.

There are several Ipad TV tuners available, haven't had any experience with them, one is called Elgato Tivizen. Google is your friend howecver here is an Ebay link however I know the product is sold by the channel to re-sellers for around $108.00 so retail is going to be between $150-$200, here is a used one on Ebay for $75 starting bid. It works independent of internet and phone coverage etc. From my research this is the product most people are buying.

Thanks terra, just checking to see if they can be hooked up to a 12v booster and antenna, looks like it may be possible, the adapter supplied to slot into the iPad dock looks promising. Say goodbye to 12v tele's maybe! Not that I am all that keen on tv but I would like to catch up on footy if I can.

Yeah should be good to go, the other thing you can do but requires internet is run the Foxtel Go App, all you need is your foxtel password details or a close friends and they do the footy live data is charged as pet normal so for 3G it equates to around 300mb per hour, cheers
