Hi my name is Sascha,

I'm a proud owner of a 2002 Troopy!
I did the fuel filters today.

But I can not find the place for the small washer/O-ring on the primary filter, but it was with in the new fuel filter package.
Do I need the washer?
I replaced the other 4 washer at this time.

Thanks a lot!

Cheers, Sascha

Hi Sascha,
I assume you're talking about the cartridge prefilter and not the spinon main filter.
There is a small rubber ring that goes under the head of the bolt - must be about 20mm diameter and the curve side goes away from the bolt head and towards the housing. Then there are the two flat rubber washers that go either side of the cartridge. then there is the big rubber ring that slips into the top housing.

My guess is that you haven't removed the small rubber ring from the bolt.

If you have replaced these 4 already then I'd guess the O-ring is an extra - these cartridges fit multiple vehicles

Thanks a lot, Phil!

The o ring I mean is just about 6mm in diameter and I removed just 4 o rings.
I just want to go save.

Ha Sascha

Has your filter got a water drain plug on the the bottom of the filter, as this could be a new one for that.

Sascha,
The old 60series took the same filter in about 1980-1982 before they upgraded to a spin-on filter. That model 60series had a water trap as well that took a 6mm O-ring on the drain bolt. I reckon that is why it's there! So its not needed for your vehicle.

Cheers

I've got an 93 80 series cruiser 1HZJ on the bottom of the water sensor on the fuel filter there is a tap with that size o ring.

There is no water tap or sensor on this filter.
I just have the sensor on the other on (that one with the hand pump on top)
